about Homeaboutblogpressfaqscontact

Heat The Beat Boutique is the brainchild of graphic designer Cat Davison and Rog How - a radio producer and sometime dabbler in the complex art of record-bowl making.

Two creatively fruitful years in Melbourne, where the British couple sold their wares (and drank several beers) at artists' markets like The Rose Street Artists Market spiralled into a frenzy of record-bowl making, with the couple eventually selling their bowls in every Australian state and featuring in a number of newspapers and magazines.

Now back on home turf (London) they continue to create a number of designs in a range of varnished and unvarnished bowls.

In the future, they are looking to branch out into stationary, homeware and jewellery - all made, obviously, from 100% recycled records.

Sydney Morning Herald (July 2008)
It seems the Bare Essentials guide in the SMH (10/07/08) got a little carried away and wrote a piece showcasing Heat The Beat Boutique work as 'calenders, cards, brooches, necklaces & clocks, cufflinks and rings'. Erm, not quite yet, although Cat did write about these as possibilities she wanted to explore in her blog... Nevermind! We have consequently been commissioned by a couple to make their wedding rings which we are delighted about! All publicity is good publicity! Click here to read the article.
